Financing Capacity Calculator: How to Assess Your Options Before Applying

    Introduction

Before applying for credit, every entrepreneur should answer a simple question: how much financing can I realistically attract?

Many entrepreneurs approach banks without a clear understanding of their capabilities. The result – wasted time, rejections, and frustration. The Oferta Finance financing capacity calculator helps change this – it allows you to assess real financing offers in minutes and understand what affects them.

    How does the calculator work?

The calculator analyses three main constraints that banks use in credit decisions:

    By EBITDA

EBITDA is the main indicator banks use to assess a company's ability to service a loan. The calculator computes the maximum loan based on EBITDA and industry risk level.

    By collateral (LTV)

Banks provide financing only in a certain proportion to collateral value, known as LTV (Loan-to-Value).

    By equity

Banks evaluate how much owners have invested in the business. Low or negative equity increases risk.

Final result: the smallest of three

The calculator always selects the smallest of the three constraints – this is the most realistic financing amount.

    Tax debt impact

If a company has tax debt, bank financing availability is significantly reduced. The calculator suggests considering EIF guarantees or Altum support.

    Alternative (non-bank) financing

The calculator also shows non-bank financing offers, which may be available even when bank financing is limited.

    Recommendations

Based on input data, the calculator offers personalised recommendations to improve financing chances.
