Latvian lenders' websites vs reality

We reviewed 50+ lender websites in Latvia. The result? Between what's on the first screen and what actually happens – there's a gaping chasm.
Three typical examples
On the website: "Business loan with no collateral!" In the footnote: *collateral required above €25,000 In reality: they only accept the most liquid properties in central Riga On the website: interest rate 1.3% In the footnote: *starting from, applies to clients with the highest credit rating In reality: add EURIBOR, an arrangement fee and an early-repayment fee On the website: financing up to €10,000,000 In the footnote: *minimum deal €500,000, 3-year audit and mortgage required In reality: they only fund specific business segmentsWhat's usually not on the website at all
Most often fees, guarantor requirements and collateral terms are either not visible at all, or are buried deep in the site architecture – somewhere between "General Terms" and PDF footnotes.
The entrepreneur reads the first screen, fills in the application, and only two weeks later – in a conversation with a credit officer – finds out that:
- the rate isn't 1.3%, it's 1.3% + 6M EURIBOR + 1.5% arrangement fee
- "no collateral" means a personal guarantee for the full amount
- "fast decision within 24h" applies to registering the application, not the decision
That's why we exist
We know the real terms. Not the ones on the website.
We compare, structure and represent you in negotiations with lenders. You receive offers with real numbers from the start – fees, collateral and guarantee requirements included.
Because entrepreneurs shouldn't have to read footnotes.
